Seeing Gus Fring @ Los Pollos Hermanos Sydney Pop-Up

11th April 2017

Dear Chibi,

Today I got to see Giancarlo Esposito in person, or better known as Gus Fring from ‘Breaking Bad’ & ‘Better Call Saul’ :D To promote Better Call Saul season 3, Potts Point’s ‘Thirsty Bird’ chicken shop was transformed into the fictional ‘Los Pollos Hermanos’ and Gus himself would be there to open the shop. HOW COOL IS THAT?

Around 11.45pm, my workmate and I both snuck out of the office to catch a train to Kings Cross. As expected, the pop-up store drew a large crowd and the queue was huggggeeee. First 700 people got free fried chicken, curly fries and a drink. That’s pretty sweet, but since it was a work day and all… it just wasn’t possible for us to line up ^^” So instead, we opted to stand around the entrance hoping to catch a glimpse of Gus himself~ and of course we did!

A Whole New World ~ Aladdin The Musical

18th March 2017

Dear Chibi,

Aladdin Musical @Captiol Theatre Sydney

Last night Kaz and I got to see Disney’s Aladdin musical performed at the beautiful Capitol Theatre. We were on the third row seating near the middle, so our view was amazing! WE COULD SEE ALL THE DETAILS! I’ve never sat so close to the front before and it really makes a huge difference seeing all the characters faces and expressions. There’s so much glitter and sparkles (It almost got blinding at times). We also had streamers falling over us. I was thoroughly impressed by the production quality, the special effects and all the backdrops left me in awe. There was just so much energy from the cast it made for a very fun evening :D Of course, the humor was brilliant also. The Genie stole the show, but other characters also had their moments (Iago cracks me up) I had a grin on my face the entire night and now my cheeks slightly hurt ^^” All in all, I had a fantastic night :D

Aladdin Musical

Best scene hands-down was the MAGIC CARPET SCENE OMG IT WAS BEAUTIFUL :’D Even sitting so closely, it was hard to see it being hung on anything. I also loved the cave scene, that was really spectacular.

Sailor Moon S Part 1 Limited Edition DVD Review

25th February 2017

Dear Chibi,

Sailor Moon S Part 1 DVD Madman

After a one and a half year wait since Sailor Moon R part 2, Sailor Moon S part 1 is finally here!! :D This is my review of Madman’s Australian and New Zealand release, which contains Viz Media’s new English dub along with the original Japanese audio. This is the 5th volume of the set and contains 19 episodes on 3 discs. Only 5 volumes to go!

See my review of Sailor Moon: Part 1 & Part 2
Sailor Moon R: Part 1 & Part 2

Sailor Moon S is my second favourite season (just behind Sailor Stars) and introduces two new outer senshi Sailor Uranus & Sailor Neptune. The popularity of the third season is largely due to this pair, and it’s not hard to see why. THEY ARE JUST. SO. COOL. And ruthless. They also happen to be lovers. What makes this release special is that we finally have an English uncut version that aims to preserve the integrity of the original Japanese scripts. They are no longer “cousins” (Which is pretty hilarious.. xD). This is long overdue, don’t you think? ;)

Gold Coast Trip Part 3: Wet’n’Wild & Paradise Farm

12th December 2016

Gold Coast Trip Part 1: Movie World & Cat Cafe
Gold Coast Trip Part 2: Surfers Paradise & Sea World

Dear Chibi,

Wet’n’Wild

The highlight of the trip was here. This is the first time I’ve ever been to Wet’n’Wild or to any water park really. I’ve never been a huge fan of being under the sun all day and my fear of heights didn’t help either. But ever since 2009 when I overcame my fear of roller coasters, I knew it was a matter of time I’d take on this challenge. Huge water slides look daunting to me, but my mindset has completely changed.

When Hubby and I arrived at Wet’n’Wild, I thought to myself “Wow, that’s really high!” and not “I’m not going on that”. With Hubby by my side, I honestly feel like I can do anything. He makes me a better person, and I’m more brave and confident because of him :)

All these photos were taken at the end of the day when it was closing, which explains why it looks gloomy and empty XD We didn’t want to waste any time and went straight for the queues. We even skipped lunch!

Firstly, we floated around in these soft tubes as a warm up for the big rides. This was pretty relaxing, though it’s very shallow so you have to be careful not to scrape yourself.

It was another hot summer day, and the ground was burning!! We went in between rides on bare foot, so we totally felt the pain :’D Although we came on a Monday, it was still heaps busy with many school kids on excursions. The waits were around 30-45 minutes each so it wasn’t too bad…

Gold Coast Trip Part 1: Movie World & Cat Cafe

10th December 2016

Dear Chibi,
During the first week of December, Hubby and I were up at the Gold Coast to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. I’ve been to the Gold Coast with Hubby and his family back in 2009, and I know we’ve grown so much since then. It’s an amazing feeling being able to look back and know how far we’ve come… I am one lucky woman :3

We got up at 3am that day to catch our morning flight, and with the timezone difference, it made our arrival pretty early too (back an hour). Upon our arrival, we found this pretty neat cafe called “Lot 1” and ordered breakfast :)

The food and chai latte were delicious. I still prefer Hubby’s onsen egg though (my favourite thing ever :3)

Check-in time!
