Dear Chibi,

Today I did my first painting of the year featuring Korean beauty Pony :) Please click on the image below for a larger size:

I really like how she turned out, especially her right eye and her hair. The hair is always the funnest part *scribbles random lines everywhere* hehehe.

Dear Chibi,

I once joked about only doing one digital painting per year… and it looks like that’s actually happening XD. Well, here it is! This is my first time painting Japanese singer Karin Takahashi as Sailor Saturn from the Sailor Moon Musical Un Nouveau Voyage :D I really enjoyed her performance and had the sudden urge to do a Sailor Moon fanart (it’s been a long time!)

Please click on the thumbnail for a larger view :)

I end up spending my entire weekend at the computer with my wacom tablet. All up, it took around 24 hours to finish. I’m really quite happy with how it turned out :) I took some liberties with her eyes to give it a more anime-ish feel. Hopefully she still has some resemblance to Karin XD

See it come together (Work in progress below)

Dear Chibi,

Happy New Year everyone :) I spent my New Years day doing a portrait painting of Liu Yifei (Yes, it’s her again!) Click on the image below for a slightly larger view :D

I don’t like to think about how long it takes me to do a painting, because it always makes me feel inadequate ^^” I DO THIS FOR FUN OKAY, PLS DON’T JUDGE. XD I find painting hard, even when using a reference image.

Anyway, I’m really happy with how this one turned out! :D My favourite part is the left eye (her right eye). Funnest part to draw was the hair.

Work in progress

I kind of slacked off toward the end, with the shoulders and lower half of the painting ^^” Too tired. Please forgive me 8D I hope you like it too!

Dear Chibi,

And here is the Rikku Chibi Doll :) I hope you like it! I’m actually sick at home today with the flu :( NooOOOO. I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN RIGHT NOW : < *sob* Guess I’ll take some panadol and have a rest…

In the meantime.. enjoy these cuties :D!

Dear Chibi,

So I end up drawing Yuna today :) What a pretty outfit. Now I just need to make a Rikku doll to complete the girls set!

Dear Chibi,

Just felt like drawing Lulu :D Not sure if I’ll draw the other characters..maybe one day :)

Today I finally finished a “new” painting of Chinese actress Liu Yi Fei! Technically it’s not a new drawing since I reworked an existing piece I did four years ago. It looks pretty different though :) You can see the older versions here: Part 1, Part 2.

I’m really happy with how this turned out :) I had a lot of fun painting her face and skin. Blending skin tones used to be what I feared the most, but now that I’ve grasped the basic technique, it’s not as scary. It just requires a lot of patience and lots of brushing!

Her hair, accessories and dress do still look a little rough… I probably should have cleaned it up more but after spending so many hours on the face, it wasn’t too exciting XD (That net was pain to draw…it’s still actually my first rough line art..) Hopefully it doesn’t bring down the picture too much :)
