A weekend of Brunch

Dear Chibi,
Wow, it’s already October. I’ve been MIA for the past month since I’ve been pretty sick with the flu and have only just recovered (sort of). I’m still dealing with back and rib cage pain from all the coughing, but I am getting better :’) I’ve been watching a lot of TV and playing Starcraft. I’m not really sure if playing Starcraft is the best idea, but 2v2 is relatively mindless.
Belated Birthday @Concrete Jungle Cafe
On Saturday, I met up with the girls for Kat’s 32nd birthday brunch. We tried out this neat little cafe in Chippendale, located next to Spice Alley. It was busy but we didn’t have to wait to be seated.
Ohhh pretty. I ordered one hot chocolate but was given another one for free ;3 I had both.
Bircher Muesli. That 10/10 presentation :O The actual meal itself was ‘okay’. I don’t know why I chose this since I don’t really like muesli (nor do I like pears which this has). HAHAHA yes.. I am weird. BUT IT LOOKS PRETTY XD
The other girls got the Sriracha Spiced Salmon Poke Bowl + Barramundi. mmm…*Drools*
Great service, friendly staff and pretty food. I would love to come again (but order something else XD)
P.S Staff thought we were Japanese and kept saying ‘arigatou’ to us, lol.
Brunch @Ristretto & Co Cafe
On Sunday, Sompies and I caught up in the morning for brunch at ‘Ristretto & Co Cafe’ in Liverpool. Should I call this the long weekend of brunches? ;D
This time I made sure to order something I actually wanted to eat… waffles!!
OMG LOOK AT THIS PRETTY UNICORN LOOKING THING. Okay, it’s just fairy floss but it’s pink and cute and..and.. SUPER SWEET. It turns out we were both craving for something sugary. I also got a watermelon juice which tasted bland in comparison to the sweet overload that is the waffles XDDDD It was delicious, but I also think I’ve reached a weeks quota of sugar in one meal :’D SEND HELP.
It was a refreshing way to end a crazy month.
October, please treat me well :)
Coles mini collection

Dear Chibi,
Happy first day of spring!!
Who doesn’t love a mini replica? :D Last month Coles supermarkets had a promotion where if you spend over $30 in one transaction, you get a random ‘mini’ of a everyday consumer good. Hubby and I regularly shop at Coles but we hardly ever spend over $30 in one go. I didn’t think I’d be able to get my hands on any, but luckily my work colleague was collecting these for her daughter and gave me her extras! Yes… ALL of these were her duplicates!! Lucky me! There were 30 different products to collect. I end up with 13.
My favourites from the lot: Colgate toothpaste, Tim Tam, Leggo’s bolognese sauce, Oak chocolate milk and Milo.
The parent and baby :D
Mirai

Dear Chibi,
The friendly folks at Madman recently sent me a double pass to see ‘Mirai (Mirai of the Future)’ which came out yesterday. We tend to avoid watching trailers since they usually show the best bits, so Hubby and I went in pretty blindly having no idea what this movie was about. It turned out pretty cute and entertaining : )
I also caught a shiny Sableye on our way home *.* Feeling lucky today!
Spicy Ramen Challenge

Dear Chibi,
For those who know me, I usually avoid eating spicy foods as my tolerance has always been rather low. Well, over the last couple of years Hubby has slowly trained me up and today sent this challenge my way:
It was actually quite delicious XD.
We both ate a bowl each, and I found the amount of sweat dripping from Hubby’s forehead so amusing XD Meanwhile my face is completely dry and I didn’t drink any water until I finished the whole thing.
WHAT A BOSSS. Yup, I just said that about myself :D
I’m still horrified by the sight of chili peppers though ^^”

Sailor Moon SuperS DVD & Bluray Limited Edition Review

Dear Chibi,
Sailor Moon’s fourth season ‘Sailor Moon SuperS’ tends to get a lot of hate. Too much Chibiusa, no Outer Senshi and way too many filler episodes; these are usually the main arguments I hear. Although I can understand where they’re coming from…I personally really enjoyed SuperS. There, I said it 8D. SuperS is actually not that bad. Chibiusa does a fine job as it’s leading character and I loved watching her relationship with Pegasus slowly grow over the course of the season. It’s so endearing, and rewarding. She also matures and gets heavy character development, and how can that be a bad thing?
The villains are great characters too, especially the Amazon Trio, each with their distinctive personalities and quirks. The slightly crazy, bizarre circus villains makes it ridiculously funny to watch (You can’t take them seriously). Viz Media’s English cast did great job with the voicing and the dialogue (My only issue is them calling Fish Eye, “Fish’s Eye”). All these make for a entertaining watch though, as long as you don’t mind letting the characters do their thing, and the main story unravel in due time.
Packaging
Quite a few of you have been wondering if it’s worth continuing the DVD sets, or starting anew with the Blurays. Today I’ll be sharing with you side by side comparisons of both products so you can decide for yourself :)
Bluray vs DVD limited edition boxsets. Apart from the DVD box being larger the packaging is basically identical (Crisis Compacts not included ;D)
The cover art always looks so pretty in Madman’s releases :3
