US Trip Part 1: Los Angeles & Coastal Drive

5th December 2017

Home Sweet Homeeeeee! :D I miss my cat.

Dear Chibi,

Hubby and I have recently returned from our 3 week holiday in the States :D The trip was for our 3 year wedding anniversary which lands on November 15th. It was our first time venturing outside of Asia, so the long flight was quite the experience ;D (and a little daunting at first). During our stay we visited Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Monterey, San Francisco, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Orlando, Miami and finally New York. I’ve got a lot to cover, so I’ll will be splitting up my blog entries into several parts as I make my way through all the photos. So, let’s get started!

Firstly, we landed in LA early in the morning. I only managed around 4 hours of sleep during the 14 hour flight. LA was 16 hours behind Sydney, so the timezone difference was messing with my brain XD. After the first day though my body clock seemed to have adjusted and it was all good from there :D Phew!

Our rental car for our drive up the West Coast.

Gold Coast Trip Part 3: Wet’n’Wild & Paradise Farm

12th December 2016

Gold Coast Trip Part 1: Movie World & Cat Cafe
Gold Coast Trip Part 2: Surfers Paradise & Sea World

Dear Chibi,

Wet’n’Wild

The highlight of the trip was here. This is the first time I’ve ever been to Wet’n’Wild or to any water park really. I’ve never been a huge fan of being under the sun all day and my fear of heights didn’t help either. But ever since 2009 when I overcame my fear of roller coasters, I knew it was a matter of time I’d take on this challenge. Huge water slides look daunting to me, but my mindset has completely changed.

When Hubby and I arrived at Wet’n’Wild, I thought to myself “Wow, that’s really high!” and not “I’m not going on that”. With Hubby by my side, I honestly feel like I can do anything. He makes me a better person, and I’m more brave and confident because of him :)

All these photos were taken at the end of the day when it was closing, which explains why it looks gloomy and empty XD We didn’t want to waste any time and went straight for the queues. We even skipped lunch!

Firstly, we floated around in these soft tubes as a warm up for the big rides. This was pretty relaxing, though it’s very shallow so you have to be careful not to scrape yourself.

It was another hot summer day, and the ground was burning!! We went in between rides on bare foot, so we totally felt the pain :’D Although we came on a Monday, it was still heaps busy with many school kids on excursions. The waits were around 30-45 minutes each so it wasn’t too bad…

Gold Coast Trip Part 1: Movie World & Cat Cafe

10th December 2016

Dear Chibi,
During the first week of December, Hubby and I were up at the Gold Coast to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. I’ve been to the Gold Coast with Hubby and his family back in 2009, and I know we’ve grown so much since then. It’s an amazing feeling being able to look back and know how far we’ve come… I am one lucky woman :3

We got up at 3am that day to catch our morning flight, and with the timezone difference, it made our arrival pretty early too (back an hour). Upon our arrival, we found this pretty neat cafe called “Lot 1” and ordered breakfast :)

The food and chai latte were delicious. I still prefer Hubby’s onsen egg though (my favourite thing ever :3)

Check-in time!

A week in Tasmania Part 1: Hobart

25th November 2015

Dear Chibi,

For our one year wedding anniversary, Hubby and I flew down to Tasmania where we spent 7 days exploring this beautiful little island, making our way up from Hobart to Launceston!

tasmania-01

Maccas for breakfast @Sydney Airport. I would like 3 sugars with that please!

The flight was quick and painless, in a mere 1.5 hour we had arrived in Hobart (I beat the first level of Super Hexagon, woo~ go me!) We picked up our rental car and got a free upgrade for it ~ yay, lucky us :D

tasmania-02

Unfortunately it was raining on the first day so we didn’t do too much. We explored the CBD and checked-in to our hotel at Bay View Villas, where we stayed for 2 nights.

tasmania-060

Lunch @Sakura Sushi (but I decided to go for good old Chinese Soy Chicken Noodles XP)

tasmania-07

We found the prices of food here to be generally quite expensive. On average a simple meal would cost you $25 a person excluding a drink. But hey, Tassie is kind of a touristy place and we are in Australia so we just came to accept it as the norm 8D

tasmania-03

At around 8pm, the sun was still shining outside. Hubby and I started to look for a place for dinner and were quite surprised a lot of the restaurants were already closing! Dai pinchie XD!
