Muffins Galore

Dear Chibi,
This weekend I decided to try baking muffins! It proved to be more challenging than I thought. I made a batch of 12 on Saturday which turned out pretty disappointing. The muffins were burnt on the bottom and all around the edges. The shape was also pretty weird. About half of it end up going to waste. After evaluating what could have possibly gone wrong (there were several factors) I was determined to make a better batch the next day.
This morning I headed back to Woolies to find some muffin paper cups. On Thursday night I had bought the wrongs ones (they were for cupcakes), so I thought I could just do without the paper. Oh how wrong I was~ XD
This is the end result of my Macadamia, white chocolate and raspberry muffins!
mmmmm! I’m really happy with how these came out today :D After the second batch, I had a few more left over for a third batch. The third batch was the best :D

Dear Chibi,
On the night of 6th July 2012, I heard one of the most exciting news of my life: A brand new Sailor Moon anime is being released next year world-wide. It is a complete reboot of the series and will be based on Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon manga and targeted at older fans.
I have never been so happy about a release.
I couldn’t sleep that night.
I was so so excited and giggly for the next several days.
Chibi can die happy :D (After she finishes the series!)
I decided to write this blog entry (although over a week late) to mark this occasion. I want to remember this feeling forever :)
Twitter went nuts that night. “Sailor Moon” was also trending on twitter and news spread like fire :D It was such an amazing feeling to be able to share with other fans :D
Liu Yi Fei Portrait Complete

Today I finally finished a “new” painting of Chinese actress Liu Yi Fei! Technically it’s not a new drawing since I reworked an existing piece I did four years ago. It looks pretty different though :) You can see the older versions here: Part 1, Part 2.
I’m really happy with how this turned out :) I had a lot of fun painting her face and skin. Blending skin tones used to be what I feared the most, but now that I’ve grasped the basic technique, it’s not as scary. It just requires a lot of patience and lots of brushing!
Her hair, accessories and dress do still look a little rough… I probably should have cleaned it up more but after spending so many hours on the face, it wasn’t too exciting XD (That net was pain to draw…it’s still actually my first rough line art..) Hopefully it doesn’t bring down the picture too much :)
Work In Progress:

Dear Chibi,
As some of you may know, I love Starcraft 2, a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. I’ve previously posted several blog entries related to my experiences on the ladder. I don’t consider myself a “gamer”, as I don’t play video games all that much. However, Starcraft 2 is a bit of an exception. I know, that sounds weird considering it’s one of the most difficult and competitive video games out there. Many players feel frustrated and their fear of losing deters them from the game entirely. If you lose, you have no one to blame but yourself. It can make you feel pretty bad, and why play a stressful game that makes you feel horrible when games are supposed to be fun? The match-making system also pits you against other players of similar skill level, so you will lose about 50% of the games. It is inevitable.

Dear Chibi,
Jacky got me this amazing Razor BlackWidow Ultimate mechanical gaming keyboard for my birthday :D yaaaay. It’s such a beauty and I love the sound of the clicks ^^ It will take some time to adjust though since there are extra macro keys on the side. Hopefully it won’t be a problem :) I also got a Razer Goliathus gaming mouse pad. Now with these new gear along with my Razer Carcharias headset and Razer Abyssus gaming mouse – I am all set for masters league ;D

Dear Chibi,
I wasn’t expecting to find much (if anything) related to Sailor Moon while in Japan, but I kept my eye out for them anyway :) As some of you may know, I don’t have much of a Sailor Moon collection. I wrote a little bit about it here when I bought my first Eternal Sailor Moon gashaphon. Other goodies I own include the manga (Chinese), some VCDs, stickers/cards, gifts from HK and Sailor Moon cels.
Anyway, this entry isn’t about sharing my mini collection, but rather, the stuff I did manage to find in Japan and the stuff I bought :D All of these items are official and not bootlegged :)
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Live Action) Sailor Moon doll
(Bandai 2003) Second hand, box unopened.
I love this one so much :3Â I’ve always wanted to own a Sailor Moon doll, and I’m glad this is the first “doll” I’ve ever had in my life XD (I never had any dolls as a child) I found this gem at a little old store in Mitaka on my way back to the station after checking out Ghibli Studio Museum.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon gashapon set (new) @ Golden Age in Akihabara
Golden Age sells some really really old stuff. The store is full of dust but that only excited me more XD I spent a good amount of time here going through boxes and shelves and finally came across these. These were new. yaaay. The store owner was really nice, and when I picked these up he informed me these were from the Live Action incase I was looking for anime versions. Of course, I knew that already but I appreciate how he informed me and not just try to sell his stuff. It was also in this store where I found a Luna P ball! More about that down below XD
Eternal Sailor Moon, Figure Maniacs Sailor Moon and Usagi (Sailor Moon World (Series 5) gashapon)
I was really happy to find the Figure Maniacs Sailor Moon. I love it so much and have always wanted her >w< The style is very different to the others and the detail is pretty amazing. I found her and Usagi with the ice-cream from the same store in Akihabara. I also found a Super Sailor Moon gashapon at another store but decided to pass since the store owner was nowhere to be seen >.>;; Usagi with the icecream and Eternal Sailor Moon actually come from the same series set :D
