Sailor Moon R and S Limited Edition Bluray Set Review
2nd June 2018 at 4:33 pm
Dear Chibi,
Wow, it’s June already. With Sailor Moon SuperS coming out in a couple of days here in Australia, I thought it’s a good time to get these two sets reviewed!
Sailor Moon R & Sailor Moon S~ Isn’t the design lovely?
The boxes always have another sheet of paper “glued” to the back. It contains details of the bluray content as well as a synopsis. I’ve always found them to be super sticky and annoying to pull off, often leaving a little layer of glue.
Unfortunately this time, parts of the box also got ripped off when I tried to pull the sheet off :( </3 I died a little inside. What a shame such a beautiful limited edition set is now partly ruined. *cries a bucket of tears*
I really hope Madman decides to stop gluing paper to the outer box. The whole box has another layer of plastic wrapped around it anyway, so the glue isn’t really necessary.
The limited edition version comes with a little art book which is identical to the one from the limited edition DVD set (only smaller). You can see the size comparison above. See more pictures here.
Ok, time to take off the sheet on the other box set *fingers crossed*. It is so tough!
Phew. No damage here. I had to be super careful with this (like pulling off a band-aid and hoping it doesn’t rip your skin off)
Interestingly, there’s a small difference between the booklet in the DVD and Bluray. The middle pages have been switched around so either Sailor Pluto comes first or Tuxedo Mask. No biggie though.
Sailor Moon R Limited Edition Bluray Set
This contains the entire second season which has 46 episodes and covers the Doom Tree Arc & Black Moon Arc.

Overall I’m very pleased with the quality of these releases. The products are almost identical to the limited edition DVD boxsets (which I love!) but with better video quality. It’s just hard to take screen shots, otherwise I’d post the menus and other things ^^”
What are your thoughts on the new releases? Comment below and let me know! If you’re interested in owning a copy, they are available in DVD and Bluray (region B). For more Sailor Moon merchandise, check out this shopping guide.

Hello
I have a question, when it will be possible for your Super S limited edition review to have its premiere this Wednesday. What versions of this series are you going to buy? It’s about DVD or Blu ray, because I want to buy DVD LE version, but I would like to see your review. Best Regards ;-)
Hi Anna!
I’m a bit undecided which one to get also, they are both great products. Maybe both just to compare….
Which remaster did they use for this release? I remember the Italian version was one of the best at the time.
Japan remastered theirs for a blu ray release recently. I am assuming Madman used those for this release.
Awww these look so much prettier than the US viz release… :(
Those covers look really nice
