Cherry Blossom Festival ~Taiko Drumming & Mini Golf

Dear Chibi,
With spring around the corner, the beautiful pink blossoms have started to bloom over at Auburn Botanical Gardens. We decided to take P-chan to the ever-so-popular Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival this year after we learned there would be Taiko drumming at the main stage. It’s one of P-chan’s most favourite things, so we didn’t want him to miss this opportunity to see a live performance.
And of course, who could resist all the pink eye-candy? ;)
We decided to take a break and headed over to the main stage area to grab a spot. We munched on Hubby’s homemade onigiri while P-chan patiently waited 45 minutes for the show to begin. He loved watching them get ready in the backstage.
And the performance begins! YuNiOn takes the stage.
Hubby taking part in the interactive sessions. P-chan was too shy to go up, so Hubby went instead ^.^
It was a great show and P-chan enjoyed it a lot. The folks there were really friendly and even came to thank us personally for coming. P-chan has been imitating the drum moves (and sound effects) since he’s been home ^_^
A short but engaging Japanese fusion dance involving fans, umbrella and belly dancing. We then left the main stage area to wonder around the rest of the gardens.
What a show off ;)
After the school kids left, the “Harajuku Mini Golf” area was pretty much empty and free for us to enjoy :D P-chan had a great time here wondering back and worth between the courses. He was beaming with joy every time the ball went in.
Finally, a few more snaps before we head home. What a big day!
Cherry Blossoms viewing done and dusted this year <3
