Vivid Sydney @ The Royal Botanic Garden

Dear Chibi,
Last night Marcus, Emily and I hung out after work to see the Vivid displays around Circular Quay. It happened to be International Burger Day so we end up dining at Maccas’ and claiming our free Big Mac, woo XD.
There’s usually a ton of people at Vivid, but it really made a difference coming on a Monday night. There were still people, but it wasn’t crazy packed where you felt like you couldn’t move.
Here are some pics I snapped along the way :D The photos aren’t great quality, but it’s about experiencing it in person…right?? XD (I didn’t feel like bringing my camera ^^”)
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie animation. There was even a little booth selling merch XD
Come Fly With Me
Fragmented. A lot of the installations consisted of random objects lit up, glowing and changing colours.
Oh gosh, this mini Harbour Bridge booth XD. The queue was short, but the wait was long!
After what left like an eternity, we finally stepped inside the room. There’s this guy giving instructions on how this thing works. We get to pick the colours and laser effects. I tried to make it look decent so we could at least snap a pic of the result. He was like “Okay, are you ready? If you’re ready hit the button”. I was waiting for something epic to happen. Maybe it’ll start lighting up, and I’ll get to see all the fancy effects? Even better… maybe the actual Harbour Bridge will change colours according to what I picked?
I hit the button.
Everything turned blue and the lights switched off. That was just the “off” button. ahahaha fail :’D
My expectations were way too high :P
Oh well, here’s the real bridge!
Light of the Sails~ The ones from previous years were better in my opinion. This was just random creepy abstract stuff XD
..Well, except for this feather pattern (Em’s favourite)
We skipped the Samsung promo stuff, as we couldn’t be bothered lining up :p I was keen to check out The Royal Botanic Garden though as I haven’t been the previous years.
The entrance
So vibrant!
Hyperweb
The Bower
These little guys again. Marcus managed to make them look creepy in his photos :P
Midnight Sun
Oasis. This was my favourite display *_* It feels magical..and kinda romantic. It just needs Suteki Da Ne playing in the background ;D
It looks like a field of fireflies.
Wishing happiness
Parrot Party ~ This one’s pretty nice too!
The Bloom. It reminds me of those brooches older woman wear.
It was a fun little evening of artsy stuff with my fine artsy friends ;D Thanks for the company guys :D
Nice pics!! Looks like a good variety!
Haha that still looks like a ton of ppl!! (Opera house shot?
oh yeah that photo does look busy, but it’s not actually that bad! XDD
