Turning 31 ~ Birthday Weekend in Bundeena

22nd May 2018 at 10:28 pm

Dear Chibi,

Before I start jotting down my weekend adventures, I want to say a big Happy Birthday to my twinbee Kaz, who spent her birthday in Kangaroo Valley :D (She’s 5 minutes older, which I’m sure you could tell ;D)

One of the great things about having your birthday land on a Monday is being able to turn a single day affair into a weekend of celebrations. (I’m totally not complaining!) In fact, I was enjoying it so much I didn’t want it to end. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it was my birthday every day? “Haha, you wish!” I hear you saying ;D Of course, I’m just being greedy. I know Hubby spoils me every single day :3

First thing on the menu was Hubby’s breakfast~ katsu sando! :D How cute is this little sandwich? It was his first time making it, and it was a delight ^^

Before we made our way to Bundeena, we stopped by this neat little cafe called Elatte Cafe. Oh my, the food is totally made for Instagram. How pretty is that pancake?? *drools* Taste did not disappoint either. So yummy!

When we arrived at the Royal National Park, we dropped by our little shack where we’d be spending the night. It has a fully equipped kitchen but the outdoor bath tub was our favourite feature ^.^

Time for the coastal walk!

Unlike last weekend when it was freezing cold and super windy, the weather was perfect :) Beautiful sunshine with a very light breeze. The track itself was pretty flat which made the whole experience really relaxing. Well, except when Hubby made me sit on the edge of the cliff with him :’D I was so nervous I didn’t dare to move XD

After a 3.5km walk, we reached the famous Wedding Cake Rock. It’s got a fence around it due to how unsafe and dangerous it’s become. As expected, many tourists ignored the warnings and climbed over for photos anyway. Some even laid there chilling out. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the risk but whatever floats their boat… XD

Pretty sunset…It was almost pitch black by the time we finished.

Back in the shack we found plenty of things to entertain ourselves with.

Rookie mistake. Rock always wins!

Pro card shuffler.. (Not my fault the cards were stiff and unbendable!)

Hubby showing how it’s done. I love how pleased he looks XD

Hubby prepared delicious lamb chops and garlic bread for dinner. Lamb chops are my faaaaaaavourite OH YUM. So good :DD The parsley was a nice touch too (they had a vase of fresh parsley in the kitchen)

The next morning, Hubby made breakfast for us to enjoy at the front yard with views of the beach. So peaceful and quiet…. This cabin sure exceeded our expectations. Finally, it was time to head home to our starving cat 8D I’m sure he misses us dearly (He did not :P)

Lastly, we got to have my favourite Sukiyaki (Japanese hot pot) for dinner!! Yaaay. I have been craving this for weeks :D I am so happy… (And now I’m feeling hungry looking at these photos….)

What a weekend. I can’t stop smiling about it ^^ Thank you Hubby for spoiling me silly and making my birthday so memorable.

Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes whether it’s in person or through Whatsapp/Facebook/Twitter :D (I’m still accepting ‘belated’ messages for those of you who forgot ohohohohh. Just kidding ;p)

P.S  Golden State Warriors smashed the Houston Rockets :D Woot!! (Up 2-1 now of the Western Conference Finals…let’s hope they win the next 2!)
