Dear Chibi,

‘Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo’ is finally out in Australia on blu-ray! 3.33 is the third of four films released in the ‘Rebuild of Evangelion’ tetralogy, with the final film yet to come.

Let’s have a closer look at the packaging~ (Click here for Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22)

This is the limited edition version which comes with a slipcase and a mini booklet.

The box is a bit wider than the previous two movies because the booklet is bigger and sits outside the disc case.

The inside is surprisingly minimalistic too. I found it a bit underwhelming considering the release for the previous 2 movies had a lot more visuals. (Comparison pictures below)

The booklet has a really nice shiny cover with 56 pages of coloured visuals. I like :D

3 movies side by side. It makes me wish the cover used an artwork as oppose to a simple black for consistency sake ^^”

TADA. At least this matches and looks great as a collection :)

This release comes with a bunch of extras like teasers and trailers, though the gem is really ‘Rebuild of Evangelion: 3.33’. It gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie including the storyboards, animatics, 3D modelling, backgrounds and line-art. This is just so incredible! Having said that, the film itself does look really impressive. It was also quite enjoyable, and explores a lot of new themes and concepts which are rather intriguing, albeit confusing. With the final film on the way, I’m hoping it will finally give us some answers.
