Today I crafted a brand new layout for my little blog :D Yaaay! (If you still see the old one, please hit refresh.) I really like how everything feels bigger, more clean and less cluttered. This change will allow me to upload larger photos so you don’t have to squint every time you wanna see something ;D Moving forward, I’ll also be posting up neat little galleries. You’ll see what I mean! I think this design will stick around for a while so I hope you like it too ^.^
Lemme know if anything looks broken, and I’ll go fix it up. For now..more house keeping for the blog!
Back in 2007, I created a second blog called “Chibi’s Doodling Canvas” where I shared my drawing, sketches and work-in-progress. The idea was to motivate myself to draw more, and to separate all the random doodles from this blog. However, it’s been quite a long time since I’ve done anything with it really (hopeless, I know) so instead of it being left neglected on another site, I decided to migrate my posts back home to this blog. Welcome home, arts and doodles :D
Since my previous blog entry about my redesign for MoonSticks, I’ve been mostly working on new comics and have posted up 5 so far :D I’m really happy about that and intend to keep pumping them out on a weekly basis again :) I stopped a while back because the weekly schedule was too stressful and I was losing sleep over it, but this time around I’m still losing sleep ^^” I need to manage my stress levels a bit better~
Yesterday for Marcus’s birthday, a group of us went to the Cook+Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre for indoor basketball :D We were sweating it out for a good two hours and I had a lot of fun ^_^ I’m feeling so sore and tired right now…but I guess that’s expected when you’re so unfit XDD
I recently decided to give MoonSticks’s site a new layout and after about 14 hours of coding over two days, it’s finally finished ^^ I’m really happy with how this turned out :3 I even feel motivated to make more comic strips again :D The previous site design always bugged me since the header was massive and took up half the screen. I think this new design works much better and I hope you like it too.
Please check it out:
..And now to finish off my Sailor Moon episode re-watch ^^ 4 episodes leftttt!
It’s been a little quiet over here in the past month, as I’ve diverted my attention into fixing MoonSticks and getting the ball rolling again. Thankfully, I’ve managed to clean up all the nasty malicious code and now it’s back with a pretty new theme/layout!
Last weekend, I posted up a new comic strip: #64 The Naked Truth after a 6 month break and I’m glad it was well received :) I want to make these comics a little more regular, but my brain doesn’t seem to function the way I’d like @_@ Maybe I can make these monthly..or even fortnightly.. hmm:3
Some bad news. Recently I discovered all my websites were attacked by the SEO Pharma hack. When you google “MoonSticks” you’ll see that all sorts of nasty words appear as MoonStick’s title tag and meta description promoting pharmaceutical products. Initially I thought it was just MoonSticks, but I later discovered all my sites are actually compromised :( Putting “site:windy-goddess.net drugs” into google returns over 300 search results all pointing to my sites. It’s a sad day. I’ve been working hard for about a month now trying to resolve the issue but the nature of the hack makes it really difficult to fix. There’s a lot of hidden malicious files and code located everywhere within my account and it keeps reappearing despite me deleting them. With so many websites under the same account, it sure is time consuming going through every file… but it must be done.
As you can see, I’m using the default wordpress theme… I actually deleted my entire wordpress installation of this blog and uploaded a fresh new copy. I’m hoping this will eliminate the hack but it’s still too early to tell. However, if it works I’ll need to do the same thing for all my other sites. I’ll probably just leave it looking ‘default’ for the time being as I wouldn’t want to redo everything again if the site is still compromised. I guess my priority right now is to make sure the site is safe and free from hacks.
I haven’t blogged much lately nor gone on MSN/facebook and things like that. About 2 weeks ago, I decided to give myself a break from MoonSticks to give myself some air to do other things. I really do love MoonSticks, but the amount of time spent thinking about it became a bit overwhelming. I thought about it for a while and decided I would probably benefit from a little hiatus. I gave myself a time frame of 4 weeks- I’m not sure if it’s the right decision, but time will tell!
The break from MoonSticks commenced and I decided to finally get around to watch things I’ve been meaning to see for over a year. Last year June, I was anticipating Chinese Paladin 3, but thought I’d wait until there was English subtitles so it would be easier for me to understand (it’s in Mandarin). I waited and waited..and it kind of didn’t happen. Then last year December while I was in Hong Kong, I grabbed myself a copy of the DVD. It was in Mandarin audio with simplified Chinese subtitles. I didn’t care at this point.. I HAVE TO SEE IT! So yay, I was happy with my find.
However, when I returned from my trip, I have no idea why but I left it sitting on my shelf for another 2 months or so. Didn’t I have time? What was I doing? I guess I was busy with something.. Well, whatever was holding me back disappeared and I started watching it. I got hooked.. big time. Apart from work and sleep, for a whole week I did nothing but watch Chinese Paladin 3. I couldn’t get it out of my head XD And surprisingly, there was no language barrier at all, I pretty much understood the whole thing! Now I wish I had seen it sooner =_=
After completing the 37 episode drama (which didn’t take very long due to the err..marathons)Â I built a fansite. yay. My 2009 new years resolution was to make a new website. It didn’t happen because I didn’t feel passionate about any topic to devote any time to it. This time I found something and although it’s a year late, I’m happy it happened!
I built a fansite for my favourite couple from Chinese Paladin 3 performed by Wallace Huo and Tiffany Tang Yan. I had no idea who they were, but damn were they good to watch! I spent the past week working on the site and now it’s up and running. It’s so much fun working on a website of a topic you really like. It doesn’t feel like work to me at all (even though I do web stuff full time) I hope this web-making passion will never die :)
Recently I’ve been working on my newly launched comic blog: MoonSticks- Fun, short and sweet Sailor Moon Comic Strips. It’s going well so far and I’m up to comic #3. It’s going to be updated once every Friday which leaves me some time during the week to think of ideas and to put it together. It’s been fun so far, but I must admit, it’s a little stressful coming up with ideas! haha.. and I only started it too. I’ll try my best though =) Please take a moment to visit if you haven’t already, it would make me really happy :D
Now, other happenings…I mentioned in an older post that I entered this blog into WPwebhost’s WordPress Design contest (Hand-Drawing Style Category)- and it got shortlisted in the top 10, yay. The voting has begun so please vote for Dear Chibi *cough*shameless-plugin*cough* XD I’m quite happy with this theme, so it was good fun putting it together :)
Day light saving has ended last week, which is sorta depressing! Sure, we get an extra hour, but now it’s so dark (and scary) walking home from work each night o_o The good thing about Autumn though is that there’s less chances of cockroaches/insects running about! The sad thing is, it’s essentially WINTER all year round in the new office, since there’s blasting cold air conditioning on all the time! Why?And..why does Day Light Saving have to end? hm? Please explain to Chibi the logic behind it.
Anyways, Happy Easter everyone!! Enjoy the lovely long weekend =D
