Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s Sydney Concert @Big Top Luna Park

25th June 2016

Dear Chibi,

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 5IVE YEARS MONSTER WORLD TOUR 2016

Kyyaaryyyyy :D Last night Hubby and I came back from j-pop princess Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s concert held at Luna Park! It’s a one night show in Sydney as part of her “KPP 5iVE Years Monster World Tour 2016”. I was lucky enough to win a double pass to the show, so Hubby and I were both super excited!! We first discovered her music while on our Japan trip back in 2012. Her music video was playing on a large billboard in Shibuya, and her song “Candy Candy” caught our attention. Who would’ve known 4 years later she would perform in Sydney, and that we’d get a chance to see her live?

It was a standing concert and we managed to get a pretty good spot up near the front (on the second row). Loved the atmosphere, many fans cosplayed and dressed up. I might’ve done something if I didn’t have to come after work XD We weren’t allowed to use our proper cameras, so here’s some pics I took on the night with my phone. Still pretty decent quality :)

Kyary was so cute >w<! It was a simple gig, but really enjoyable. She danced the whole night, wore 3 different outfits and got the crowd pumped. I knew around 80% of the songs, while Hubby knew 100% ;D Shows who’s the bigger fan doesn’t it? He was waiting for her to sing “Kimi ni 100 Percent”, and lucky for him she performed it during the encore :D

Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY @Sydney

16th April 2011

Distant Worlds

Dear Chibi,

Last night Jacky and I went to see the much anticipated “Distant Worlds” Final Fantasy concert at the Sydney Opera House~the experience was mind blowing! I enjoyed every second of it and was left in awe. We had really good seats because Jacky had known about it for a while and had bought tickets 5 months ago. The composer Nobuo Uematsu also attended which was probably Jacky’s highlight of the night~He was a funny man 8D

Distant Worlds Sydney 2011

We forgot to take the program before we entered so we weren’t sure which songs were going to be played. My favourite from the night had to be FFX’s “Suteki da ne“, “To Zanarkand” and FF VIII’s “Liberi Fatali. Kanon, the vocalist for Suteki da ne was amazing…she has such a beautiful soothing voice. They also had a screen behind which showed scenes from the games which was a really nice touch. Oh, the fond memories.

Throughout the evening I constantly got goosebumps because of just how overwhelmingly epic the orchestra was. ahhhh…

This is the best present ever. Thanks so much Jacky for taking me here.
<3 Happy 4 Year Anniversary :D

Joey Yung’s Sydney Starlight Concert 2010

29th March 2010

Dear Chibi,

Last night Jacky, Kaz and I went to see Joey’s 2010 Sydney Concert held at the Sydney Entertainment Center. I’ve always wanted to go to a concert, and Joey is pretty much the only person I care about and want to see live. I even had a dream I met her in person (and damn that was cool XD) Knowing my first concert experience was watching her made me extremely happy :D!

Joey Yung Sydney Starlight Concert 2010

I started listening to her about 10 years ago. She came to Sydney for a concert in 2004, but because it was during HSC year we decided it probably wasn’t a great idea (and it was pricey and we were jobless XD). I’m glad she’s able to come back and perform for us :)

Jacky and I got the $69 tickets but thanks to his cousin we got the front row of the last section so we were pretty close to the stage (though not centered). Kaz watched with her friends at the $108 seating right at the center. It would have been better if they gave us whistles or glow-sticks but that didn’t happen. We resorted to using phone lights instead.

So.. I was sitting there waiting eagerly for her to appear but wasn’t as excited as I thought I would be at that very second. Then she came. She started singing. My eyes became really watery.. It was then that I realised just how happy I felt. I was reaaaally happy. I couldn’t believe I was sitting there seeing the real person and hearing her voice. I will never forget that moment :)
