Startling By Each Step (Bu Bu Jing Xin) and other Chinese dramas

12th January 2013

Dear Chibi,

Since finishing “Chinese Paladin 3“, I’ve been meaning to try out a few other Mainland Chinese dramas. I love watching Fantasy/Wuxia/Romance series set in ancient China.

A few months ago I started watching “Strange Hero Yi Zhi Mei” starring Wallace Huo and Liu Shishi (both from Chinese Paladin 3) and got up to about episode 10. It was okay, but it wasn’t as interesting as I had hoped. Not even Wallace Huo was enough to keep me from calling it quits.

Next, I decided to try “Xuan Yuan Sword – Rift of the Sky“- a series I was keen to watch because it has a similar feel to Chinese Paladin. Sadly, I got up to about episode 6 and started losing interest. I don’t like any of the main characters so far, and most have been introduced except for Gu Li Na Zha (who happens to be the only character I might like). SHE HASN’T EVEN APPEARED YET JEN, WHY DID YOU STOP? Because the dry plot and main leads are driving me crazy. I also find the costumes a bit of a turn off.

All these series are about 30 episodes in length so maybe I’m giving up too early. Who knows, maybe I’ll come back to this series in the future^^;

Chinese Paladin ~love

29th June 2009

Dear Chibi,

Recently I started a new Twitter account dedicated to Chinese Paladin, mainly ’cause I’m a bit crazy about it and just wanted a place where I can share my obsession XD I’m sure the average person wouldn’t know anything about it…lol

Anyways, I thought I’d keep all Chinese Paladin related stuff on the Twitter account, but then I really wanted to share this video here on my blog, too. (lol, kinda defeated the purpose of the twitter account, aye?)

It’s the opening theme of Chinese Paladin 3 (XianJian QiXia Zhuan) ~ And I love it!! I’m really really looking forward to this series.

But yesh, I might have to wait a while for the English Subtitles since my mandarin is a bit rusty at the moment- it’s a little hard to follow XD

Currently seeing..

Dear Chibi,

Yesterday I discovered a newly released artwork of a Chinese drama I’m really looking forward to… OMG, HOW PRETTY IS THIS?? *__*

Chinese Paladin 3 (Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan Zhi Ling Zhu Shen Jian )

I went pretty nutty when I saw the trailer a few weeks ago, especially discovering the amazing Hu Ge was the main character, and super cute Yang Mi was the female lead~ ahhhh.. hope it’s good >_< ..Can’t wait til it comes out.

Fairy and Swordsman ~ 3 Years

17th January 2009

Dear Chibi,

Just realised today marks [Fairy and Swordsman]’s 3rd year anniversary.  aww :3
I really should give it a new layout sometime too.

I really want to make a new fansite too, except I have no topics in mind that I’m really passionate about. I feel like I haven’t built a website in quite sometime, I’m kinda mising it. It’s different making it for a living, my true passion lies in making my own stuff that’s mine in the end. hmmm.. it’s 12pm now..I better eat some breakfast! XD

Fairy & Swordsman v7

21st November 2007

Dear Chibi,

Yay, after 9 months of looking at the green themed layout, I finally have the time and motivation to give [Fairy and Swordsman] a new look! I’ve been really wanting to change it for quite some time now… so happy XD hmm.. I like the colour scheme of this one quite a bit…pinkish-red is lovely.

Serious combat with the spotty-handed

24th February 2007

Dear Chibi,

Sadly, my condition has gone worse since last blog entry, which meant the day was spent trying to recover, and not getting very far. Been down with the fever, which caused the icepack to melt too >.>” The tissue box is almost empty due to obvious reasons. Thank goodness I don’t have to go out today, I’d rather stay at home. It would have been terrible if I had to go to Uni today… where will I get that many tissues? XD

When in such a condition, Chibi decides there’s not much to do except watch something for entertainment. I finished Shen Diao Xia Lu (Return of Condor Heroes 06) the other night, and I must say I was rather pleased with this production and enjoyed it very much. The only thing that bugs me is that a duration of 16 years has passed, yet why doesn’t ANYONE age one bit, except for the main character guy, who grew a bit too much?? Seriously, everyone looks the same and he’s suppose to look around 30, but already has white hair..looking like late 40s/50s..errr.. oh wells, he still looks hot XD

Today I started watching Fate Stay Night, currently up to episode 5 and it’s alright so far. It has some interesting ideas which I’m curious to see where it leads. Lemme go find a pic and plug it in here..

hehe..Saber, stolen from Jacky’s site ^.^

Return of Condor Heroes

2nd February 2007

Dear Chibi,

While my Uni buddies have been working on various projects this break, Chibi has been enjoying [Return of Condor Heroes 06] starring Liu Yi Fei. We can clearly see who has been productive this break, can’t we?

After putting it off for months, I’ve decided to resume watching this Chinese production. It’s actually quite good… so even though it’s in Mandarin, I’m still willing to watch it with Chinese subtitles. I haven’t actually watched other versions of ROCH (despite being written by famous Jin Yong), except some scenes from TVB starring Louis Koo and Carmen Lee in 1995.

Liu Yi Fei’s (Xiao Long Nu) acting skills has improved a lot, and the fighting scenes just look fabulous. I haven’t seen Huang Xiao Ming (Yang Guo) act before.. but don’t be surprised as I’ve only started watching China productions. He makes a really good looking Yang Guo! I love it when his hair is all messed up (laughs). Yi Fei is stunning too. Can’t wait to see more =)

secret to happiness

15th January 2007

Dear Chibi,

I’m writing to recommend reading Mal’s blog entry for the Jan. 11th, 2007 here: http://babli-ms.livejournal.com/8754.html I think it’s a pretty good read. You are free to choose whether you agree/believe it or not. Just wanted to share it =) Do I think it’s true? To a certain extent, yes.

On a completely different tangent, I’m loving Tian Wai Fei Xian {Fairy from Wonderland}, featuring Hu Ge and Ariel Lin. Talk about high level of chemistry, this story is simple but very cute. The OSTs sound really nice! Here is the ending themesong for download:
