Hubby’s Birthday at the Blue Mountains

15th May 2018 at 10:18 pm

Dear Chibi,

Last Friday I celebrated Hubby’s 31st birthday over in the Blue Mountains. It happened to be really cold and windy that day (60km/h at 4 degrees) but we were prepared with our winter gear XD Upon arriving at Katoomba, we even got a glimpse of falling snow :D Ah, lucky!

We stopped by ‘Mountain High Pies’ for breakfast. The one pictured above is the ‘big breakfast pie’ which consisted of poached egg, bacon, sausage, home-made baked beans and chorizo topped with hollandaise sauce. What an appropriate name XD.

Grand Canyon Walking Track

We decided to go on the 6km Grand Canyon Walking Track since we haven’t been before. All up it took us 4 hours to complete including a break (with me walking at a granny pace ;D). The track was really pleasant and actually quite nice.

As we descended the mountains, we could barely feel the wind!

Mossss..qu : >

Hubby being Hubby, he found every opportunity to climb on rocks and trees XD

I’ll just stay at the bottom thanks :’D

How did he even get up there….?

What is this awesome big flat piece of land?

No entry. I kept asking Hubby if this sign was meant for us :P

Nope, just for the people abseiling ;D I would never ever ever do this in my life. I can’t believe Somps did this lol…

So many deep holes!

At last, we found our picnic spot :D

Nomnomnom~We bought these from a Japanese restaurant in Katoomba earlier.

Hubby enjoying his A&W Cream Soda. Reminds me of our US trip…

And again XDDD

Oh hello there little monkey!

And the uphill climb begins. Having not really exercised in a while, I got really tired towards the end. Thankfully there’s a Hubby to the rescue. He end up carrying me up the flight of stairs yayayayay THAT WAS FUN :D

Finally, we reached Evans Lookout :D The interesting thing about this trail is that there is only one lookout, which is.. a bit unusual! At least we started on the right side so this feels like a reward at the end ^^

After checking in at our cabin, we headed out for dinner at Papadino’s. Food was great and super filling. I liked the soup the most.

We spent the rest of the night back in the cabin glued to the electric blanket ^.^

Dinner @ Firestone

Back in Sydney on Saturday, we headed out to Revesby Worker’s Club for dinner to celebrate with my inlaws.

Birthday isn’t complete without a cake :)

Happy Birthday to my favourite person in the world <3
