US Trip Part 4: Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz

15th December 2017 at 6:41 pm

Part 1: Los Angeles & Coastal Drive
Part 2: Exploring San Francisco
Part 3: NBA Warriors Game

Dear Chibi,

Our final two days in San Francisco consisted of doing some shopping and checking out more touristy spots.

Breakfast @ Honey Honey Cafe & Crepery

Fishermans Wharf

Told you we’d be back ;)

This time we ordered the Animal Style Fries from the secret menu as well as the 2×2 burger. Now we don’t feel left out like last time XD
These burgers were so good though…

*Drools* Look at that cheesy goodness o_o. These were much better than the regular fries from In-N-Out. It does feel a bit soft and mushy though… we ate it with a fork ^^”.

More lolly shops. These places always have the most strange/cool things.

How cute are those Pac Man arcade machines? :3

Fisherman’s Wharf had many stalls selling crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls. We had to get one!

Up to some..mischief 8)

“Chowder” :3

Um, yes. *cough* XD.

Pier 39

There were many piers along the strip, but 39 was the one to go to apparently!

Taken outside the main entrance

Doesn’t this place have a similar vibe to Santa Monica Pier?

The highlight of Pier 39 were definitely these lazy noisy sea lions ;D Life seems great when you can lie around all day.

Golden Gate Bridge

The sun was starting to set! We quickly hurried over to the Golden Gate Bridge hoping to see it in its golden glory. We took an Uber ride and managed to catch two Dratinis along the way. Lucky us 8D

There it is!

Wooooow…

So prettyyyyy… I am in love with this bridge! It looks like a painting *_*

And just like that… the clouds covered up all the sunlight :’)  What happened to the golden hour, aye?

We decided to take a walk on the bridge and see it close up. It sure looked pretty epic.

View from the bridge

Good night, Golden Gate :)

The next day we had breakfast at Hollywood Cafe. Like most restaurants in America, the portions were big!

Yay fruit salad!! I missed eating fruit so much :’D

How cool is this Alligator bread?

Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz Island is a former federal prison which held the worst of the worst criminals.

Waiting for the dedicated cruise to arrive.

Over San Francisco Bay

There it is!

Oh my.. looks kinda creepy.

We did an audio tour which was actually really cool. It allowed us to explore each section at our own pace without having to follow a tour guide. It was a lot more engaging and interesting than I thought it would be. Pretty impressed with the story telling!

Erm.. conditions were not so great.

Nope, I ain’t staying here.

The place was actually quite big and it took us over an hour to explore everything.

Outside the island.

I was so tired by the end of it, we decided to take a break at a Starbucks. Starbucks is SUPER popular over here, you can count on seeing one every couple of streets. There are more Starbucks than any other franchise it’s crazy.

Being nerds, we ordered the Pokémon GO Frappuccino 8) It looks just like the one in the game XD! It had vanilla bean, raspberry syrup and whipped cream. Yum.

Part 5: Las Vegas
