Seven Mile Beach & the Pipis

29th March 2016 at 11:26 am

Dear Chibi,

Last weekend Hubby and I spent our Easter Sunday down south at Kiama and Seven Mile Beach. For some reason, the forecast is always rain over Easter, but luckily for us it was all dry when we arrived (It was raining pretty hard on our way there)

Kiama blowhole. I’m preeeetty sure I’ve been here before. I just can’t seem to find any photographic evidence xP

After exploring Kiama and having lunch, we continued our way to Seven Mile Beach.

Ah, this beach is always so lovely! Time to look for pipis!!

One of Hubby’s finds. For those who don’t know, pipis can be found just underneath the surface of the sand in the water. Just dig a hole with your foot and if you’re lucky you can feel it underneath.

One time, Hubby got really excited when he thought he found one.. it turns out he picked up a CRAB O___O! Hubby’s face turned from excitement into terror within seconds~ it was hilarious XD He quickly tossed it back into the water. I’m not sure if he was lucky or not XP

We didn’t have a bucket to put the pipis into, so we found a spot, marked it with a stick and came to look for them afterward :D The pipis would bury themselves back under the sand.

There’s less of them over the years since people have been taking them from the beaches : < I hope we can always find them when we come visit again.
